18th NADA Auto Show Celebrating 50 Years
The NADA Auto Show has long served as a vital barometer for Nepal’s automotive industry, consumer sentiment, and future technological direction.
Marking the 50th golden jubilee of the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal, the 18th edition of the NADA Auto Show 2026 is set to deliver a broader strategic vision from August 25 to 30 (Bhadra 9 to 14) at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
Spanning nearly 300,000 square feet, the venue will host over 200 stalls, including 23 passenger car brands, 17 light commercial vehicle brands, 13 two-wheeler brands, 70 component and accessory exhibitors, and 10 financial institutions.
Beyond traditional vehicle displays, this landmark edition highlights artificial intelligence, robotics, and domestic manufacturing. According to NADA General Secretary Milan Babu Malla, the event reflects the rapid shift toward electric vehicles, automation, and smart connectivity.
Attendees will experience interactive technologies, including the ‘GI Humanoid’ and ‘Go-2 Quadruped’ robots, alongside QR-code-based vehicle information systems powered by AI.
A major feature of this year’s exhibition is the dedicated ‘Made in Nepal and Made for Nepal’ pavilion, prioritizing locally manufactured and assembled two-wheelers, tires, batteries, lubricants, helmets, and spare parts.
Anchored by the central theme “From Industry to Employment,” the automotive sector currently contributes approximately 18% to total customs revenue and 22–25% to overall national revenue, supporting 100,000 direct and nearly 1 million indirect jobs.
Accommodating an estimated 200,000 visitors over six days, the event incorporates comprehensive parking arrangements, free shuttle services, and digital ticketing via Khalti to deliver an engaging, future-focused experience.
Beyond Vehicle Displays: How NADA Auto Show 2026 Reshapes Nepal’s Automotive Ecosystem
The upcoming 18th NADA Auto Show 2026 signals a fundamental shift in how mobility, technology, and economic policy intersect in Nepal.
Coinciding with NADA’s 50th anniversary, the six-day exhibition at Bhrikutimandap transcends simple showroom displays, reframing the automotive industry as a complex ecosystem encompassing digital infrastructure, financial integration, and sustainable transport solutions.
At the core of this transition is an expanded focus on Electric Vehicles (EVs) and smart mobility infrastructure. In addition to vehicle launches, the event will feature dedicated symposiums addressing charging networks, technical workforce development, service grid expansions, and long-term policy stability.
General Secretary Milan Babu Malla emphasizes that sustainable EV adoption requires robust infrastructure and skilled human capital alongside market sales.
Complementing the EV focus is the first-ever standalone pavilion for indigenous manufacturing. By bringing assembled motorcycles, local spare parts, and domestic industrial components into the spotlight, NADA aims to redefine public perception regarding local production capabilities and job creation.
Coupled with crowd-management strategies including off-site parking hubs, shuttle transit, emergency healthcare teams, and accessibility facilities, the 2026 Auto Show establishes a comprehensive blueprint for the next era of Nepalese mobility.
