Agriculture and Forestry University Contributes Salary Deductions to Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund

Agriculture and Forestry University has decided to contribute funds to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to aid relief and rehabilitation efforts for families and communities affected by recent flooding.

Executive Council Decision and Salary Deduction Scale

Official Resolution: During an Executive Council meeting held on Saturday, Bhadra 13, the university decided to deduct specific percentages or days of salary from the August earnings of officials, teaching staff, and administrative personnel to deposit into the national relief fund.

• Executive Leadership: An amount equivalent to one month salary will be deducted from the earnings of the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Deans, and Controller of Examinations.
• Directors and Associate Deans: An amount equivalent to half a month salary will be deducted from all Directors and Associate Deans.
• Teaching and Administrative Staff: Professors, associate professors, administrators, associate administrators, and equivalent personnel will contribute an amount equal to 10 days of their monthly starting salary scale.
• Officers and Instructors: Assistant professors, assistant administrators, section officers, instructors, and equivalent staff will contribute seven days of salary.
• Support Staff: Five days of salary will be deducted from chief office assistants, office assistants, and equivalent staff, while two days of remuneration will be deducted from drivers, office support personnel, and non-gazetted employees.

Disaster Context and Official Acknowledgement

Flood Impact: The decision follows the severe flooding originating from the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa on Bhadra 10, which caused extensive damage to life and property across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan districts.

Official Notice: University Registrar Prof. Dr. Subir Singh issued an urgent notice expressing deep grief over the disaster and commending all participating university personnel for their voluntary financial contributions toward relief and community recovery.
