HIDCL Contributes 10.1 Million Rupees to Prime Minister Relief Fund for Flood Recovery

Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited (HIDCL) has provided 10.1 million rupees in financial assistance to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support ongoing rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts following the Bhote Koshi–Trishuli floods.

Direct Fund Deposit: HIDCL deposited 10.1 million rupees directly into the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Executive Channel: The financial contribution was presented to the central relief fund through the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.

Immediate Relief Scope: The primary focus of the assistance is to support urgent humanitarian rescue, emergency relief, and rehabilitation operations for affected citizens.

Trishuli Corridor Recovery and Infrastructure Resilience

Infrastructure Assessment: The flood on Bhadra 10 caused extensive damage across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and surrounding districts, severely impacting hydropower projects, power transmission, distribution networks, roads, and bridges.

Long-Term Recovery Needs: Management highlighted that while immediate relief is crucial, substantial long-term financial resources will be required for the total reconstruction and climate-resilient restoration of the region.

Resilience Framework Commitment: HIDCL committed to taking a leading role in designing and executing a dedicated financial framework aimed at restoring energy infrastructure and building long-term resilience across the Trishuli Corridor.
