Kumari Bank Limited has officially joined the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials, reinforcing its commitment to responsible banking, climate action, and enhanced transparency in measuring and managing greenhouse gas emissions linked to its financing activities.

Signatory Commitment and Sustainability Objectives
Financed Emissions Measurement: As a signatory, Kumari Bank will assess and disclose greenhouse gas emissions stemming from its loan and investment portfolios using globally recognized accounting standards.
Climate Risk Integration: The partnership aims to strengthen the bank climate data collection, risk management processes, and sustainable finance initiatives to support Nepal transition toward a low-carbon economy.
Strategy and Decision Making: According to Arpan Paudel, Head of Sustainable Banking Department at Kumari Bank, tracking portfolio emissions will inform future climate strategies, improve transparency, and guide sustainable financing decisions.
Bank Operational Reach and Infrastructure
Branch Network: Kumari Bank maintains a nationwide physical presence featuring 279 branches, 296 ATMs, 41 extension counters, and 40 branchless banking units across Nepal.
Service Infrastructure: The bank operational footprint is supported by 1,233 POS terminals, digital and mobile banking platforms, and international Visa card payment solutions.
Global Organization Overview
Global Network: Launched globally in September 2019, the partnership is an international collaboration comprising more than 700 financial institutions committed to harmonizing financed emissions disclosures.
Global Accounting Standard: Participants work jointly to develop and apply the Global GHG Accounting and Reporting Standard for the Financial Industry to standardize carbon reporting across loans and investments.
