The Nepal Insurance Surveyors Association has suspended its Chairman, Rishi Koirala, following formal complaints raised by association members, professional surveyors, insurance companies, and industry stakeholders.

The executive committee finalized the suspension during an official meeting held on Bhadra 27, 2083. Following an initial review of the written and verbal complaints, the executive committee determined that the matters directly concern institutional governance, statutory compliance, and the professional integrity of the insurance surveying sector.

Suspension Details and Operational Leadership Transfer

Under Sections 7(a) and 7(g) of the Association Statute, 2059, Rishi Koirala has been suspended from both his general membership and his role as Chairman with immediate effect.

Throughout the suspension period, Koirala is restricted from exercising executive authority, issuing official correspondence, making public statements, or representing the organization in any capacity.

To ensure uninterrupted daily operations during the inquiry, Vice Chairman Bhanu Kandel has been authorized to oversee institutional affairs, including bank account operations, legal documentation, and official records management in accordance with the association statute.

Formation of Independent Investigation Committee

The executive committee has established a three-member independent investigation committee to examine the complaints objectively.

Key details regarding the investigation framework include:

• Committee Leadership: The investigation is coordinated by Association Secretary Lochan Kendra Devkota.
• Inquiry Process: The committee will collect physical and documented evidence, request written clarifications from relevant parties, and provide full opportunity for legal defense.
• Submission Timeline: The committee is mandated to present its final findings and recommendations to the executive committee within one month.
