National Laghubitta Appoints Kshitij Khadka as New Board Chairman
15th September 2026, Kathmandu
National Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has formally appointed Kshitij Khadka as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors.
National Laghubitta Board Chairman
The appointment was made through a unanimous decision by the company Board of Directors during its 212th meeting held on Bhadra 29, 2083.
Khadka was selected from among the institution existing directors to fill the leadership vacancy created by the departure of former chairman Rabin Sijapati.
Reason Behind the Chairman Vacancy
The transition in leadership follows the resignation of Rabin Sijapati, who previously served as chairman representing Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited on the Board of Directors of National Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited.
Sijapati stepped down from his position after accepting an appointment as the Chief Executive Officer at another financial institution. Because Sijapati left Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited, his director position and board chairmanship became vacant, requiring the institution to execute a fresh leadership appointment.
Unanimous Board Selection and Continuity
During the 212th board meeting on Bhadra 29, 2083, the directors voted unanimously to appoint Kshitij Khadka as the incoming Chairman. By selecting an active member from the existing Board of Directors rather than bringing in an external candidate, National Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited aims to ensure operational continuity, stable corporate governance, and consistent strategic direction.
As Chairman, Khadka will lead future board meetings, oversee high level institutional strategies, and guide corporate governance across the organization microfinance operations.
