Himalayan Bank Limited has published its updated interest rates on deposit and loan products effective from Ashwin 01, 2083 (September 17, 2026).

Foreign Currency Fixed Deposit Rates
Under the Foreign Currency (FCY) Fixed Deposit section for USD, individual deposits ranging from 3 months up to 1 year earn 3.653% per annum, while institutional deposits ranging from 6 months up to 1 year also earn 3.653% per annum.
Retail and Consumer Personal Loan Rates
For Retail/Consumer Personal Loans at a fixed rate, Home Loans up to 7 years offer an interest rate of 6.50% per annum. Hire Purchase (Private) loans up to 7 years carry a rate of 6.50% per annum. Subidha Loans up to 7 years are set at 6.75% per annum. Education Loans up to 7 years carry a rate of 6.50% per annum. Mortgage Loans (Secured Personal Loans) up to 7 years are offered at 7.50% per annum, while Commercial Hire Purchase loans up to 7 years carry an interest rate of 8.00% per annum. The applicable base rate for Bhadra 2083, calculated as the average of Jestha, Asadh, and Shrawan, stands at 5.19%.
Important Loan Conditions and Notice Terms
Key additional conditions state that interest rates on forced loans may vary with a risk premium added to the published rate, while consortium financing rates are decided by the consortium. NPA accounts may have interest rates differing from published rates, and an overdue amount will attract a penal interest of plus 2% per annum. Bills under import LC (BLC) and other forced loans carry an interest rate of 16% per annum. Interest payments on the Super Premium Savings Account are made on a monthly basis, whereas interest payments on Exclusive Privilege Savings, Subidha Saving Account, and all other deposits are done on a quarterly basis. In line with Nepal Rastra Bank directives, premature withdrawal is not allowed for Institutional Fixed Deposits before 6 months, and loan rate revisions must ensure that rate variance on similar loan types does not exceed 2% per annum. Rates for other deposit and loan products remain unchanged.
