Nabil Bank Limited has outlined the full features, eligibility requirements, fee structures, and document procedures for its specialized Nabil Education Loan.

The financial facility aims to support students pursuing higher education by covering expenses ranging from tuition fees to airfare and living costs.
Key Loan Features and Coverage Scope
- Maximum Financing Limit: Up to NPR 10,000,000 (10 Million).
- Flexible Repayment Horizon: Up to 20 years.
- Moratorium Period: Up to 4 years or the specific duration of the enrolled educational course, whichever is earlier.
- Scope of Expense Coverage: Tuition fees, consultancy fees, airfare, boarding expenses, demand drafts, telegraphic transfers, traveler’s cheques, and foreign currency exchange.
- Disbursement Protocol: Funds are disbursed directly in accordance with the fee structure of the respective educational institution.
Eligibility Criteria and Collateral Requirements
Applicant Age Limits: Minimum 18 years at loan origination, with a maximum maturity age capped at 70 years.
Income-to-Debt Ratio: Equated Monthly Installment (EMI) must not exceed 50 percent of the borrower’s gross monthly income after deducting existing debt obligations. All claimed income streams must be verified via bank account transaction volume.
Road Access Specifications: Collateral property must feature motorable access of at least 8 feet in width. Properties exceeding 1 ropani in area require at least 10 feet wide motorable access.
Specific Geographic Exceptions: For Australia and New Zealand student visa destinations, properties within Kathmandu and Lalitpur Metropolitan Cities featuring 4 feet access may be accepted.
Collateral Restrictions: Properties must be free from Guthi or Mohi encumbrances, located away from high-tension power lines, and cannot be owned by third-party guarantors.
Country-Specific Conditions (Australia & New Zealand): Prepayment and file closure within 1 year of disbursement are restricted, requiring the loan to remain active for a minimum of 1 year, except in cases of visa rejection.
Fee Structure and Penalty Charges
- Loan Administration Fee: 0.75 percent of the total approved loan amount.
- Commitment Fee: 0.15 percent of the unutilized loan limit.
- Prepayment Charges (Floating Rate): 0.75 percent of the prepaid amount within 2 years of disbursement; 0.375 percent between 2 to 5 years; and 0.15 percent after 5 years.
- Prepayment Charges (Fixed Rate): A flat rate of 0.75 percent applies to prepaid amounts on fixed-interest loans.
- Credit Information Bureau (CIC) Charge: Assessed on an actual cost basis.
Documentation Requirements
Applicant and Guarantor Identification: Citizenship certificates, passports, 2 passport-size photographs, relationship certificates, marriage certificates, and bank account statements for the past 6 months.
Collateral Verification Documents: Land Ownership Certificate (Lalpurja), transfer deed (Rajinama/Bakaspatra/Ansha-banda), land revenue (Malpot) receipts, building tax clearance, blue print/trace map, Char Killa Pramanit, approved house building map, construction completion certificate (Nirman Sampanna Patra), and house registration entries on Lalpurja.
Academic and Regulatory Clearance: Offer Letter or I-20 form from the educational institution, Confirmation of Enrollment (CoE) letter, Australian High Commission immigration documents (for visa extensions), and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Education.
Financial and Tax Documentation: Salary certificates, rental agreements with tenant IDs, audited financial statements for the past 2 fiscal years for business owners, pension papers, or foreign employment verification (work permit, visa, payslips). PAN certificates are mandatory for loan amounts equal to or exceeding NPR 5,000,000.
