SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Launches Landmark 500 Million Rupee Alpha Plus SuryaJyoti Fund

SuryaJyoti Life Insurance Company Limited has officially launched its dedicated fund named the ‘Alpha Plus SuryaJyoti Fund’ after receiving the fund registration and issuance certificate from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).

Alpha Plus Ventures Limited will serve as the designated fund manager, taking responsibility for complete fund management and investment execution.
Fund Structure and Historic Benchmark
Historic First in Insurance Sector: SuryaJyoti Life stated that this initiative marks the first time in the Nepali insurance industry that a life insurance company has launched a specialized investment fund under its own brand name.
Corpus Size: The fund has been established with an initial size of NPR 500 million (NPR 50 crore).
Strategic Objective: The fund aims to unlock new opportunities for long-term and structured capital deployment, strengthening SuryaJyoti Life’s investment portfolio and fortifying its long-term corporate financial strategy.
Target Investment Sectors
According to the approved investment policy and internal investment committee guidelines, the Alpha Plus SuryaJyoti Fund will identify and execute investment opportunities across diverse high-potential sectors:
- Core Industrial & Energy Sectors: Manufacturing and processing, energy and hydropower, infrastructure development, mining, and mineral extraction.
- Tech & Financial Services: Financial and investment services, e-commerce, and information technology.
- Service & Real Estate Sector: Tourism and entertainment, real estate, hotels, restaurants, and health and wellness.
- Primary Industry: Agriculture.
- Strategic Flexibility: The fund is empowered to invest in other promising private sector opportunities that are not restricted by prevailing laws.
