Commercial banks in Nepal recorded a combined net profit of NPR 17.81 billion during the first two months (Shrawan–Bhadra) of the fiscal year 2083/84, reflecting a 7.32 percent growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

• Combined Commercial Sector Profit: 20 operating commercial banks generated a total net profit of NPR 17.814 billion (NPR 1,781.41 crore) during the first two months of FY 2083/84.
• Year-on-Year Sector Comparison: Represents an increase of NPR 1.215 billion (7.32 percent) compared to NPR 16.598 billion earned during the same period in FY 2082/83.

• Steepest Percentage Decline: Citizens Bank International recorded the highest percentage drop in net profit among the seven declining banks.
• Billion-Rupee Profit Club: Eight commercial banks crossed the NPR 1 billion net profit milestone within the first two months of the fiscal year.

• Top Five Earnings Leaders: Nabil Bank (NPR 180.27 crore), Global IME Bank (NPR 169.45 crore), Nepal Investment Mega Bank (NPR 127.59 crore), Prime Commercial Bank (NPR 114.09 crore), and Rastriya Banijya Bank (NPR 111.01 crore).
• Combined Top Five Contribution: The top five earning institutions generated NPR 7.024 billion, accounting for 39.43 percent of total commercial banking sector profits.
• Market Leader Dominance: Nabil Bank and Global IME Bank together earned NPR 3.497 billion, capturing 19.63 percent of total sector profitability.
• Bottom Five Performers: Machhapuchchre Bank (NPR 52.13 crore), NIC Asia Bank (NPR 49.91 crore), Standard Chartered Bank Nepal (NPR 47.90 crore), Citizens Bank International (NPR 47.41 crore), and Nepal SBI Bank (NPR 41.60 crore).
• Bottom Five Aggregate Net Profit: The lowest five banks earned a combined net profit of NPR 2.389 billion (NPR 238.95 crore).
