Bajura Cup 2025 Kicks Off in Martadi: 20 Teams Compete for Rs. 61,000 Grand Prize

The spirit of Dashain and Deepawali has officially kicked off in Bajura’s district headquarters with the start of the highly anticipated ‘Bajura Cup’ Seven-a-Side Football Tournament.

Scheduled to run until the 26th, the event is being held at the Malika Secondary School playground in Martadi, promising fierce competition and local sports excitement.
The Bajura Cup 2025 tournament, which has successfully attracted 20 participating teams, aims to channel the festive energy of Bada Dashain and Subha Deepawali 2082 into productive sportsmanship and youth engagement. The competition was formally inaugurated by CPN-UML Secretary and Malika Secondary School Management Committee Chairman, Kashi BK.
High Stakes and Prizes at Bajura Cup 2025
The Bajura Cup 2025 is drawing significant attention not only for the local pride but also for the attractive cash prizes.
Winner: The champion team will walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 61,000, along with a trophy and certificate.
Runner-Up: The second-place team will be awarded Rs. 32,000 in cash and a certificate.
Individual Honors: Special recognition, including a Rs. 5,000 cash prize, will be given to the Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, and Highest Goal Scorer of the tournament, encouraging individual excellence.

Tournament Highlights and Goals
The opening day set a competitive tone with a friendly exhibition match between local professionals. The match saw health workers from Bajura Hospital take on youth affiliated with Engineering Services, with the latter securing the victory.
Group stage matches commenced this morning at the Malika Secondary School grounds, with all 20 teams now vying for a spot in the later rounds.
Organizers, led by coordinator Himal Baduwal, hold high expectations for the event.
