Dividends passed by Telecom General Assembly, ‘40% more revenue in total revenue’. The 13th annual general meeting of Nepal Telecom has been held on Friday.
The general meeting takes place at the Tribhuvan Army Officer’s Club in Kathmandu. The meeting approved a plan to pay a cash dividend to shareholders of Rs. 40 per share from the fiscal year 2076/77 profit. The cash dividend will be distributed to shareholders through NMB Bank beginning today, according to the company.
The meeting unanimously reviewed and approved the Fiscal Year 2076/77 balance sheet, profit and loss account, cash flow statement, and other schedules. The general meeting was attended by approximately 92% of shareholders.
Then the meeting also appointed Chartered Accountants Prakash Jung Thapa and Piyush Anand as the auditor of the Company for the upcoming Fiscal year 2077/78.
The general assembly has approved the unopposed election of Ambika Prasad Poudel as the director.
“More than half of the total income of the company has been accumulating in the state coffers under the headings of income tax, value-added tax, service fee, royalty, and dividend,” said Chairman Basyal,
During the lockdown time, he said that the company contributed a 100% bonus on top-up, a zero balance bundle, a 27 to 30% discount on the basic rate of mobile internet service.
The company has provided voice service via basic telephone, GSM mobile, and CDMA technology, as well as internet service through ADSL, leased line, 2G, 3G, 4G / LTE, WiMAX, and FTTH technology.
