The ASCOL Hackfest 2024 recently concluded at Amrit Science Campus (ASCOL) in Kathmandu, marking a remarkable event for tech enthusiasts across Nepal.

ASCOL Hackfest 2024 Concludes

This prestigious hackathon, organized by the ASCOL IT Club and Free Students Union ASCOL, brought together 203 contestants from 63 teams across various regions of the country. The event spanned two phases, beginning with preliminary rounds on Asoj 1st and 2nd, followed by a thrilling 48-hour final hackathon held from October 6th to 8th at SR Banquet, Dhumbarahi.

The competition was fierce, with participants showcasing innovative solutions and technical prowess. In the end, Team Breaking Bugs from Pulchowk Campus emerged victorious, clinching first place with a well-deserved win. They were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and an exclusive placement offer, further amplifying their success. Close behind, Team Pariwartan from Patan Campus secured second place, receiving a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, while Team Synergy from Ambikeswari Campus, Dang, rounded out the top three, taking home Rs. 15,000.

The ASCOL Hackfest 2024 attracted attention not only for its scale but also for its ability to bring together talented young innovators eager to solve real-world problems through technology. The event was presided over by Dinesh Adhikari, president of the ASCOL IT Club, with Prof. Dr. Binil Aryal, Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology at Tribhuvan University, serving as the chief guest. Sadhana Sigdel, the club secretary, conducted the proceedings.

As a hub for emerging talent, the ASCOL Hackfest has cemented itself as a key event in Nepal’s growing tech landscape, fostering innovation, collaboration, and skill development. By offering participants the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and potential employers, the hackfest continues to inspire the next generation of IT professionals.
