Ministry Directs Telecom and ISP To Ensure Uninterrupted Services Amid Infrastructure Damage

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has instructed telecommunications and internet service providers to ensure the effective and uninterrupted continuation of their services.

This directive was issued during a meeting chaired by Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, in light of the continuous rainfall across the country, which has caused significant damage to communication infrastructure.

The meeting also addressed any potential issues in maintaining service continuity and emphasized the need for coordination with other relevant authorities.

If problems arise, service providers have been instructed to report to the ministry through the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).

Furthermore, the ministry has decided to effectively and regularly disseminate information related to disaster response, rescue, and relief decisions made by the Government of Nepal to keep the public well-informed.

Attendees at the meeting included Ministry Secretary Radhika Aryal, ICT Expert of Ministry MoCIT Prithvi Subba Gurung Dr. Shaligram Parajuli, NTA Chairperson Bhupendra Bhandari, Nepal Telecom Managing Director Sangita Pahadee, Radio Nepal Executive Director Amar Dhoj Lama, vishal Upadhyay – Chief Regulatory and Legal officer of NCELLL, and ISPAN CEO Suvash Khadka.
