The Bagmati Province Government is preparing to fully digitalize its industry administration services across all thirteen districts starting in the fiscal year 2083/84.

This major administrative initiative aims to allow entrepreneurs, business owners, and service seekers to access core industrial and commercial government services entirely through an online platform.
Under the new digital framework, key administrative procedures will be accessible remotely. These services include new industry registration, annual business renewals, ownership transfers, name amendments, and routine administrative filings. The implementation of this platform eliminates the need for physical visits to provincial government offices, streamlining the overall regulatory process.
Expansion Based On Makwanpur Pilot Project Success
The provincial decision follows the successful testing and deployment of a pilot digital industry administration system at the Industry and Commerce Office in Makwanpur district. Having observed positive outcomes and improved service delivery in Makwanpur, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Land and Administration decided to scale the integrated online portal across the entire province.
Kumar Tamang, spokesperson for the ministry, confirmed that all district level Industry and Commerce Offices operating within Bagmati Province will be integrated into the central digital platform within the 2083/84 fiscal year. The provincial government expects this digital shift to make public service delivery faster, more transparent, and highly accessible, while reducing paperwork and bureaucratic delays for local businesses.

Establishment Of Model District Offices And Operational Standards
As part of its ongoing modernization strategy, the ministry has already designated the Industry and Commerce Offices in Chitwan, Kavrepalanchok, Ramechhap, and Sindhuli districts as model offices. These offices serve as benchmarks for infrastructure, digital adoption, and customer service standards.
To maintain momentum, the provincial government has allocated financial resources in the upcoming annual budget to transform all remaining district offices into model facilities across all thirteen districts. Operational standards and procedural guidelines for managing these upgraded model offices have already been finalized by the ministry to ensure uniform service quality across Bagmati Province.
Current Industrial And Commercial Statistics In Bagmati Province
According to official administrative records released by the ministry, industrial and commercial registrations have maintained steady growth across Bagmati Province. By the end of Asar 2082/83, the provincial government had formally registered:
- A total of 4,956 industrial units operating across various manufacturing, cottage, and service sectors.
- A total of 2,550 commercial firms conducting retail, wholesale, and trade operations.
Market Monitoring And Regulatory Enforcement Initiatives
Alongside its efforts to digitalize business administration, the Bagmati Province Government reiterated its commitment to maintaining fair market practices and consumer protection. The provincial ministry stated that municipal and provincial authorities will continue to execute regular and surprise market monitoring inspections.
These field inspections are structured to curb unfair trade practices, prevent artificial market shortages, control black marketing, and enforce accurate pricing across commercial centers. Through a combination of administrative digitalization and active market supervision, Bagmati Province seeks to foster a highly organized, transparent, and competitive business climate.
