Bhaktapur Nepal E-commerce Training for Women: Online Marketing Skills for Business Success

The District Industry and Commerce Office of Bhaktapur, in collaboration with the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce, has launched an e-commerce training program for women entrepreneurs.

The program began on Thursday and is designed to enhance the skills of women who are either involved in or interested in starting their businesses. The initiative aims to help them grow their businesses in the digital space.
Inauguration and Key Remarks
The training was inaugurated by Binju Bajracharya, Industry Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Land Management, and Administration. In her speech, Bajracharya highlighted the importance of e-commerce training for women entrepreneurs. She expressed confidence that the knowledge gained would contribute significantly to the growth of their businesses. She urged the participants to apply the skills they learned to improve their ventures.
Supporting Entrepreneurs at All Stages
Ram Prasad Kusma, Chief of the District Industry and Commerce Office, shared that the e-commerce training is part of the annual program for the fiscal year 2081/82.
The program targets both women who are already entrepreneurs and those planning to start a business. Kusma emphasized that the training would equip them with the necessary skills to navigate the digital business world.
Roshani Maiya Dhobanjha, President of the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce, also addressed the attendees. She stressed that the knowledge gained from the training should not remain theoretical. It should be implemented in the participants’ businesses. Dhobanjha encouraged the women to take full advantage of technology to grow and promote their businesses in the modern era.
Empowering Women through Knowledge
Lakshmi Khanal, Chairperson of the Small and Medium Industry Committee at FNCCI, Bagmati Province, underlined the significance of the training for women entrepreneurs. She urged the participants to use the insights gained from the program to enhance their business operations. Khanal pointed out that the training would provide them with the tools to promote their businesses successfully.
Vishram Duval, Treasurer of the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce, and Prithvi Bhakta Prajapati, Coordinator of the Training and Skill Development Subcommittee, also spoke during the event. They emphasized that the e-commerce training would improve the technological skills and business knowledge of the participants. These skills are essential for growing and thriving in today’s digital economy.

The training sessions will be led by Saurabh Chalise and Rohan Paudel, who are experts in e-commerce. They will guide the participants through the practical aspects of starting and managing businesses online.
