Bharatpur Renu Dahal Education Vision: Enhancing Community Schools and Student Opportunities

Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor, Renu Dahal, expressed that the city has taken all necessary steps to enhance the quality of education in community schools. At the Golden Jubilee celebration of Sharadpur Secondary School, she outlined the city’s initiatives to boost educational standards.

Key Initiatives for Education Development
The mayor highlighted several initiatives aimed at improving the education system in Bharatpur. These include providing one teacher per classroom, increasing mid-day meal provisions by adding Rs. 5 to the federal Rs. 10, distributing bicycles to female students, and offering scholarships and warm clothing. Despite significant state investment in education, Dahal noted that the expected results have not been achieved until now. However, Bharatpur has seen notable progress in educational development.
Focus on Technology-Friendly Education
Dahal mentioned the city’s emphasis on integrating technology into education. “Reaching 50 years in educational service is a significant milestone,” she remarked. “We have made considerable progress in education, focusing on technology-friendly learning.”
Student Engagement in Extracurricular Activities
Alongside academic growth, Mayor Dahal stressed the importance of involving students in extracurricular activities. She announced that the city would soon organize the President’s Running Shield Sports Competition. The competition will provide a platform for students from both community and institutional schools to showcase their athletic abilities.
Opportunities for All Students
The mayor emphasized that every student in the city would have a chance to participate in the upcoming sports event. “We are organizing this competition to ensure students from all schools, both community and institutional, have opportunities to engage and compete,” she stated.
Practical Education and Moral Guidance
In addition to academic learning, Dahal called for an emphasis on practical education and moral guidance for students. She believes the involvement of families, community leaders, teachers, and school staff is crucial in improving the educational quality in the city’s schools.
Honoring Contributions to Education
During the event, several individuals who have contributed to the development of the school were honored. The program, held under the leadership of School Management Committee Chair Jagannath Kandel, featured student performances such as songs and dances. A rally from Bharatpur-8 and Bharatpur-9 marked the event before the ceremony.

In her closing remarks, Mayor Dahal reaffirmed the city’s commitment to enhancing education. She assured that Bharatpur would continue to focus on providing quality education, combining academic growth with extracurricular development, and ensuring every student has access to opportunities for success.
