Bhote Koshi Flood NIC ASIA Bank
A devastating flash flood in the Bhote Koshi River has destroyed three branch offices of NIC ASIA Bank in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. Despite severe infrastructure losses in the region, the bank confirmed that all employees stationed in the affected areas are safe and accounted for.
Status of Affected Bank Branches
Syabrubesi Branch (Rasuwa): The building housing the branch was completely swept away by the raging floodwaters.
Betrawati Branch (Nuwakot): The branch infrastructure was entirely washed away by the river.
Trishuli Branch (Nuwakot): The office building has been completely buried under heavy mud and debris.
Official Bank Update & Emergency Measures
Temporary Service Suspension: Operational activities at Syabrubesi, Betrawati, and Trishuli branches remain temporarily suspended until further notice.
Evacuation Plan: Standby arrangements, including helicopter airlift capabilities, have been made for the prompt evacuation of staff and their families if required.
Official Statement: Bank Assistant CEO & Chief Information Officer, Jayendra Bahadur Rawal, expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims, wished a speedy recovery to the injured, and urged swift rescue operations for missing citizens.
