Bilateral IT Opportunities: NAS-IT Promotes Nepal IT in South Korea

Representatives of the Nepal Association for Software and IT Services (NAS-IT) — Alisha Shrestha, Pallav Parajulee, and Anjani Phuyal — met with the Ambassador of Nepal to South Korea, Dr. Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe, at the Embassy of Nepal in Korea.

The meeting aimed to present Nepal’s growing IT sector and discuss opportunities for bilateral collaboration, diaspora engagement, and international expansion.
During the session, the NAS-IT team highlighted Nepal’s tech talent, export potential, and the expanding startup ecosystem. The representatives emphasized the mutual benefits Nepal and South Korea could realize through enhanced cooperation in areas such as innovation, outsourcing, and investment in technology.
The meeting also stressed the importance of the Nepali tech diaspora in South Korea, identifying it as a crucial link for connecting Nepal’s IT industry to global markets. Discussions explored how the diaspora could play a key role in technology transfer, business networking, and facilitating market access.
NAS-IT expressed gratitude to its members, Anjani Phuyal and Pallav Parajulee, for their outstanding coordination and support in organizing the engagement.
This initiative is seen as an important step toward strengthening Nepal-South Korea ties in the information technology sector, supporting Nepal’s vision to become a global IT hub.
