Boudha Festival 2026: Live Music by The Axe Band & Cultural Carnival in Kathmandu

In an effort to promote religious, cultural, and historical heritage, the grand cultural event “Boudha Festival 2026 Our Culture, Our Celebration” is scheduled to take place on June 6 (Jestha 23, 2083 BS).

Organized by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 6, the festival aims to bring Boudha’s unique identity, local art, business, and community unity onto a single vibrant platform.
The grand event will be hosted at the Mahendra Boudha Secondary School premises in the Phulbari area. It is expected to draw a massive gathering of residents, youth, families, entrepreneurs, artists, and cultural enthusiasts, alongside national and international tourists.
Star-Studded Musical Lineup and Cultural Highlights
The Boudha Festival 2026 promises an immersive experience showcasing the rich traditions of the region. Attendees will witness traditional cultural dances, the energetic Lakhey music, traditional Jhakri performances, and live exhibitions of local arts and handicrafts. Food stalls featuring indigenous cuisines and local products will also be a major highlight.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Ward Chairman Bhuvan Lama stated that the Boudha Festival is far more than just an entertainment program.
“This festival is a collective campaign connecting the culture, tourism, local businesses, and the community of the historic Boudha region,” Lama emphasized. “Boudha holds immense religious and cultural importance globally. Our primary objective is to preserve, promote, and pass this rich heritage down to the younger generation.”
To ensure it becomes a shared celebration, the organizing committee is mobilizing local households, shops, and community groups through banners and promotional campaigns. Organizers have warmly requested attendees to wear traditional cultural attire and participate in the vibrant rallies, musical processions, and cultural showcases.

To facilitate smooth vehicular movement and ensure visitor convenience, the organizers have made dedicated parking arrangements across several key locations near the venue, including:
