The British College concluded its landmark TBC Career Fest 2024 in collaboration with Growth Sellers Pvt. Ltd., a two-day event that brought together over 75 leading national and multinational companies and thousands of job seekers for recruitment, networking, and professional development.

The fest achieved outstanding results, facilitating 1,700 interviews, attracting 1,140 new student applications, and drawing participants from 74 colleges. It continues to set a benchmark as Nepal’s premier platform for career development and talent retention.
The inaugural session of the event featured a welcome address by Mr. Mahendra Raj Kandel, Managing Director of TBC, and a keynote speech by Dr. Patrick McCrudden, Deputy Principal of The British College. Dr. McCrudden highlighted the importance of retaining talent within Nepal and embracing artificial intelligence (AI) in the workforce. The day featured engaging industry sessions, including Mr. Shyam Krishnan R, Head of HR at Asian Paints Nepal, who spoke about the impact of technology on employment trends, and Mr. Nishan Dhakal, Director of IME Group, who provided practical advice for career growth. Live recruitment activities were a key highlight, with numerous candidates participating in interviews and progressing to subsequent hiring stages, setting the tone for a productive and impactful event.
The second day of the event continued the momentum with impactful interactive sessions such as ‘Bridging the Gap: Enhancing Job Accessibility and Opportunities in Nepal,’ presented by Ms Prashamsa Subedee, HR Manager, Plan International Nepal. The session followed a panel discussion titled ‘The Future of Work in Nepal: How AI is Reshaping Employment Trends,’ moderated by Rachhika Karanjit, COO of Growth Sellers, featuring Mr.Suman Pokharel, DCEO, Global IME Bank, Mr. Prashant Pokharel, Country Manager, Cloud Factory, Mr. Ajit Shah, CEO of Lotus Holdings and Dr. Patrick, Deputy Principal at the British College.
Dr. Patrick McCrudden, Deputy Principal of The British College, further underscored the role of technology in shaping the job market. ‘AI is not replacing jobs; it is empowering those who embrace it.
