Business Incubation Service 2026: Empowering Koshi and Bagmati Startups to Strengthen Nepal’s Tech Ecosystem

The closing and final event of the Business Incubation Service (BIS) Program 2026, organized by ICT Foundation Nepal, was successfully held at Anupam Foodland and Banquet, Battisputali, Kathmandu.

The program was conducted to enhance the capacity of startup entrepreneurs, promote innovative ideas, develop effective business models, provide mentorship, strengthen networking opportunities, and encourage entrepreneurship. The program has made a significant contribution to the development of Nepal’s startup ecosystem.
During the program, startup teams from Koshi and Bagmati Provinces presented their innovative ideas, technology-based solutions, and business plans. The program provided entrepreneurs with opportunities to learn directly from experienced experts and successful business leaders, refine their entrepreneurial journey, and connect with the market. The program was coordinated and hosted by Rachana Kharel.
Message from the Chief Guest
The Chief Guest of the program, Honorable Member of the National Planning Commission, Prof. Dr. Sudan Jha, highlighted that the startup journey is a continuous process of learning and research. He described startups as a platform for “learning, learning, and continuous learning” and encouraged entrepreneurs to develop innovative ideas that create social impact, move forward through research-based approaches, and transform creative ideas into practical solutions.
Similarly, Hempal Shrestha, an expert in the Information and Communication Technology sector, emphasized that startups must focus on identifying customers, developing a clear vision, and building an effective business model. He advised entrepreneurs to understand customer needs, identify the right market, and make timely decisions if their business does not show potential for success.
Likewise, Jatin Bhusal, Founder and CEO of Prateek Innovations, stated that startups should focus on creative ideas and innovative solutions. He encouraged entrepreneurs not to start businesses only due to dissatisfaction with employment but to enter entrepreneurship with a clear purpose, problem-solving ability, and long-term vision.
Similarly, Sojan Prajapati, Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Prixa and Ting Ting, shared that successful entrepreneurship can begin with simple ideas. He stated that Nepal has a promising market for startups and encouraged entrepreneurs to be prepared to take risks, learn from failures, and build long-term partnerships. He also highlighted that while company registration is not a major challenge in Nepal, access to resources, investment, and necessary support remain key challenges.
Mentors of BIS Program 2026
Experienced mentors played a significant role in the successful completion of the Business Incubation Service (BIS) Program 2026 by providing valuable knowledge, experience, and business guidance to participating startups.
The mentors of the program were Prashant Phuyal, Asmi Karki, Raj Bikram Maharjan, Bhusan Raj Giri, Bikash Karna, Manoj Kumar Ghale, and Santosh Poudel.
Saugat Bastola and Kshitiz Dahal were unable to attend the final program due to unavoidable circumstances.
Judges and Evaluation Committee
The judges for the bootcamp phase from Bagmati Province were Naresh Lamgade, Sumanlal Pradhan, Sanjay Paudel, and Bikash Pokharel, while the judges from Koshi Province were Engineer Chandra Prasad Acharya, Engineer Keshav Bhandari, and Dilip Bhattarai.

The final round was evaluated by distinguished judges, including Sajana Maharjan Amatya – Chief of Party, Plan International Nepal; Sanjaya Poudel – Advisor, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation; and Anukur Sharma – Director, Innovation, Leapfrog Technology Inc.
Top Five Startups from Koshi Province
The top five startups from Koshi Province were: Local Bazar (Anil Shivakoti), Medicab Technologies (Krit Narayan Bhagat and Sanjay Suwal), Mind Bridge (Jeevan Kumar Kushwaha and Dipesh Acharya), Safari Yatri (Mousam Tamang and Razip Rai), and Volt V, which presented its project virtually through digital media.
Safari Yatri was declared the winner of Koshi Province. The winning team received a certificate along with a cash prize of NPR 100,000.
Top Five Startups from Bagmati Province
The top five startups from Bagmati Province were: Cloud Sathi (Nabin Kumar Shrestha and Anil Kumar Panta), Mach24 Orbitals (Mohan Tamang, Rubita Magar, and Sunil Bista), Retail Sathi (Umesh Upadhyaya, Manish Dhungel, Sushila Adhikari and Prakriti Pokharel), Samparka Digital Loyalty (Shreeyanch Shrestha, Rahul Rajbhandari, Krischal Shrestha and Prashant Nepali) and The Visionary Nepal (Medinee Aryal and Khesehang Yonghang).
Samparka Digital Loyalty was declared the winner of Bagmati Province. The winning team received a certificate along with a cash prize of NPR 100,000.
Certificate Distribution and Appreciation
During the program, all participating startup teams that secured positions among the top five were awarded certificates of participation in recognition of their active involvement and contribution to the program.
Likewise, mentors and speakers who played important roles in making the program successful were honored with a Token of Love as a gesture of appreciation and respect.
Distinguished Guests
The program was attended by government representatives, technology experts, academicians, entrepreneurs, and distinguished personalities from various sectors.
The distinguished guests included CAN Federation Acting President Chrianjibi Adhikari, Er. Umesh Kumar Gupta, Maniram Gautam, Adesh Khadka, Ananda Raj Khanal, Anil Kumar Dutta, Bikram Shrestha, Birendra Kumar Mishra, Brijendra Rochan Joshi, Dr. Bhoj Raj Ghimire, Dr. Pradip Paudyal, Ganesh Shah, Ganga Subba, Gauraj Raj Pandey, Guna Keshari Pradhan, Manohar Kumar Bhattarai, Narayan Timalsina, Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, Prof. Dr. Subarna Shakya, Prof. Dr. Bal Krishna Bal, Ram Prasad Rimal, Ramesh Sharma Paudyal, Shishir Pachhai, Simoli Gautam Desai, Sneha Bhattarai, Sulav Timalsina, Suman Pokharel, Vivek Rana, Brijesh Gupta, Srijana Jha, Utsab Chauhan, Manoj Kumar Ghale, Sujal Tamang, Aayush Kushwaha, Barsa Shrestha, Reebika Shrestha, and Ojashwi Sharma. Former Minister Ganesh Shah was also present at the program as a distinguished guest.
The successful completion of the Business Incubation Service (BIS) Program 2026 has created a collaborative environment among entrepreneurs, mentors, government bodies, private sector representatives, and technology experts. The program is expected to further strengthen Nepal’s startup ecosystem and encourage innovation-driven entrepreneurship in the country.
