CAN Federation President Attends Grand Inauguration of COMPUTEX 2025 in Taiwan, Fostering Global IT Collaboration and AI Vision for Nepal

COMPUTEX 2025, one of the world’s leading technology and innovation showcases, officially commenced on May 20 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2, running through May 23. Under the theme “AI Next,” this year’s event features 1,400 exhibitors from 34 countries across 4,800 booths within an expansive 80,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The grand opening ceremony was graced by prominent dignitaries, including President Lai Ching-te, Secretary-General to the President Pan Men-an, Premier Cho Jung-tai, TAITRA Chairman James Huang, and TCA Chairman Paul Peng. Representing Nepal, Ms. Sunaina Ghimire Pandey, President of the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation, attended the inauguration ceremony upon special invitation from the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
COMPUTEX 2025 centers on Taiwan’s leadership in the AI revolution, highlighting its progress in crossing the Turing Boundary—a significant leap where machines gain memory and move closer to human-like intelligence. This profound transformation merges hardware with software, envisioning a future where humans and AI work in unity. Taiwan now stands at the forefront of this AI-driven era, powered by its strength in semiconductors, advanced computing, and technological innovation.
CAN Federation President Sunaina Ghimire Pandey emphasized that Nepal can draw significant inspiration from Taiwan’s vision to position itself as an IT hub. Her remarks highlighted the immense potential for Nepal to focus on AI-based software development and services outsourcing. President Pandey stressed the urgency for Nepal to swiftly foster a robust AI ecosystem to demonstrate industrial resilience and integrate into the global supply chain as a secure, trustworthy, and open digital hub.
Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, Senior Vice President of CAN Federation, reiterated the importance of COMPUTEX 2025 as a pivotal platform for bilateral engagement. “This global event has opened up meaningful dialogue on talent development, technology adaptation, and long-term business strategies,” Adhikari stated. He expressed pride in initiating this engagement during his tenure as General Secretary, acknowledging the continued momentum in strengthening IT ties between Nepal and Taiwan. Adhikari underscored that COMPUTEX 2025 is a “key milestone” for the Nepal ICT Industry, with the collaborations forged at the event seen as crucial for transforming the vision for Nepal’s digital future into a reality during President Pandey’s tenure, aiming for accelerated growth and global competitiveness.
As a gesture of goodwill and to foster stronger ties, President Pandey presented tokens of appreciation from Nepal to Mr. James Huang (Chairman, TAITRA), Mr. Paul Peng (Chairman, TCA), and Mr. Hsiu-Lung Chou (Executive Vice President, TAITRA).
During her visit, President Pandey also shared insights into Nepal’s latest advancements in the IT sector. She extended a warm invitation to international tech leaders, exhibitors, and startups to participate in CAN Info-Tech, Nepal’s premier ICT exhibition. This outreach aims to further strengthen ties and explore avenues for collaboration between Taiwan and Nepal in the rapidly expanding fields of AI and digital innovation.
CAN Federation Executive Member Santosh Shrestha and Rajesh Dugar, along with other prominent leaders from the IT industry, were also present at the event. Their participation was made possible through the coordination of the CAN Federation, further highlighting the organization’s active role in fostering international collaboration and industry engagement.
CAN Federation led Nepal’s strong presence at COMPUTEX 2025, uniting 20+ tech companies to build global IT and AI alliances.
