Citizens Bank 18th Anniversary: Employee Recognition, Bank of the Year 2024

Citizens Bank International Limited celebrated its 18th anniversary by recognizing employees with 10 and 15 years of service. The event took place at the bank’s central office in Narayanhiti Path, highlighting its journey from a small team to a major financial institution.

The bank began operations on April 20, 2007, with just 43 employees. Today, it has expanded to a workforce of over 1,800 staff. To mark the milestone, CEO Ganesh Raj Pokharel awarded certificates to 79 employees, including 61 with 10 years and 18 with 15 years of service.
The celebration also included Employee Day, observed on the first day of the Nepali month of Chaitra. Pokharel praised the employees for their dedication, emphasizing their crucial role in the bank’s success. He encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and contributing to future growth.
During the event, the bank also unveiled its fiscal year 2082 calendar, reinforcing its forward-looking vision.
Recent Achievements & Innovations
Citizens Bank has achieved several milestones in recent months. It received the prestigious Bank of the Year 2024 award, recognizing its excellence in banking services.
Innovation remains a priority. The bank launched Nepal’s first virtual credit card, the Citizens Fonepay Credit Card, in collaboration with Fonepay. This service enhances digital transactions and provides customers with a modern banking experience.
Additionally, Citizens Bank introduced a mobile banking feature that allows users to apply for shares and obtain CRN numbers, simplifying financial processes for customers.
Expanding Services Nationwide
With a strong presence across Nepal, Citizens Bank continues to expand its services. It now operates 199 branches, 166 ATMs, 3 extended counters, and 74 branchless banking units across 60 districts. The bank serves over 1.85 million customers, offering modern and accessible banking solutions.
