Citizens Bank Pani Pokhari: Expanding Retail & SME Banking Services in Kathmandu

Citizens Bank International Limited has launched its 198th branch in Kathmandu, located in Pani Pokhari. With this new addition, the bank now operates 39 branches in Kathmandu Valley and 55 branches in Bagmati Province.

The inauguration event took place today with Mr. Prabal Jung Pandey, Chairman of the bank’s Board of Directors, cutting the ribbon. Chairman Pandey reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to prudent banking and good governance, ensuring customer service remains the highest priority. He also expressed his confidence in the new staff, urging them to contribute to the bank’s growth and success. The event was attended by senior management, board members, and various local dignitaries, including industry leaders and civil society representatives.
Services and Discounts at the New Branch
The new branch is equipped to offer a comprehensive range of retail banking services. It aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by improving their access to financial products. The bank also announced special offers for new customers at the Pani Pokhari branch. Corporate mobile banking and internet banking services will be provided free for the first year. Additionally, new customers will enjoy discounted fees on Demat account openings and locker services, with a 25% discount on mandatory deposits and 50% off locker charges for the first year.

Citizens Bank has earned the prestigious “Bank of the Year 2024” award. The bank has also launched Citizens PhonePay Credit Card, Nepal’s first virtual credit card, in collaboration with PhonePay. Furthermore, it introduced new features in its mobile banking app, including services for share applications and RCHL numbers, aiming to provide more convenience for customers.
