It looked at the challenges and opportunities of the banking industry, focusing on the main areas of risk allocation, speculative strategies, and management of credit demands in the face of market volatility. This calls for the utmost importance of liquidity maintenance strategies to be adopted and put into place within the sector.

The various comments by the CEOs touched on:

How foreign exchange hedging has become an increasingly necessary component in terms of managing risk within a volatile market.
It is also essential for the design of appropriate working capital policies in supporting business growth. Collateral requirements are also to be adjusted opportune with changing market conditions to make sure that the business is sustainable.

It was further brought out during the discussion that consumer banking divisions were increasingly becoming important drivers of credit growth and long-term investment, especially in Nepal’s dynamic economic environment.

A considerable amount of the discussion was devoted to the possible development of the national card payment system of Nepal, which would promote secure and efficient transactions for both consumers and businesses. It was talked about how establishing a national card system should be a strategic path toward fostering economic resilience and self-reliance in the country’s financial infrastructure.

It was followed by a very interactive networking session where deliberation on the ways of moving into the future of banking and industrial growth in Nepal took place. The innovation and cooperation required for the fulfillment of the changing demands of the banking sector and the industries were emphasized in the forum.
