A recent comparative analysis conducted by Bimapost highlights the financial performance of Shikhar Insurance, Siddharth Premier Insurance, and Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance for the second quarter of the financial year 2023/24. Each company has demonstrated distinct strengths across several key financial indicators.

Comparative Performance of Shikhar Insurance

Siddharth Premier Insurance stands out with the highest paid-up capital of NPR 2.81 billion, surpassing Shikhar Insurance at NPR 2.66 billion and Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance at NPR 2.62 billion. In terms of reserve funds, Siddharth Premier leads with NPR 4.87 billion, while Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance holds NPR 3.73 billion and Shikhar Insurance has NPR 2.78 billion.

When considering the insurance fund, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance is in the lead with NPR 6.91 billion. Shikhar Insurance follows with NPR 5.16 billion, and Siddharth Premier is third with NPR 4.96 billion. In the total premium category, Shikhar Insurance excels with NPR 5.39 billion, ahead of Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance at NPR 4.67 billion and Siddharth Premier at NPR 4.12 billion.

For net insurance premiums, Siddharth Premier achieved NPR 1.99 billion, leading Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance, which reported NPR 1.91 billion, and Shikhar Insurance at NPR 1.56 billion. In terms of total claims paid, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has the highest expenditure at NPR 2.83 billion, followed by Shikhar Insurance at NPR 2.24 billion and Siddharth Premier at NPR 2.14 billion.

Regarding total expenditure, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance spent NPR 2.10 billion, Siddharth Premier spent NPR 2 billion, and Shikhar Insurance had the lowest at NPR 1.86 billion. Siddharth Premier also leads in net profit with NPR 69.23 million, compared to Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance’s NPR 60.89 million and Shikhar Insurance’s NPR 51.3 million.

In policy sales, Shikhar Insurance issued the most policies with 317,157, followed by Siddharth Premier with 299,047 and Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance with 286,367. Siddharth Premier also excels in Earnings Per Share (EPS) at NPR 24.67 and Net Profit Per Share (NPS) at NPR 273.50. Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has an EPS of NPR 23.22 and an NPS of NPR 242.04, while Shikhar Insurance reports an EPS of NPR 19.32 and an NPS of NPR 204.59.

Lastly, in terms of the Price-to-Earnings (PE) ratio, Shikhar Insurance has the highest at 37.42, followed by Siddharth Premier at 35.55 and Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance at 31.31. This comprehensive evaluation underscores the varied strengths of each insurance company, offering valuable insights for potential investors and policyholders.
