Trends of Cyber Security Threats in Nepal: Law Enforcement Experiences Mr. Subodh Ghimire is one of the honorable SSP from Nepal police force has given his speech on this topic. He has discussed the present and the future trend on cybercrime for Nepal.

He has mentioned that cybercrime has been rapidly increasing in Nepal. By 2017, it reached 70%, and these trends may attain to the top level by 2020. That will be the time of internet and lots of crimes will happen. Cyber-touch will be as harmful as physical- touch. Both the security providers along with the criminals will use the high tech and internet protocol. Cyberworld also helps in creating other crimes.

The current trend of the cybercrime will be 19% by 2013-2014, 39% by 2014-2015 and 35% by 2015-1016 he said. He told that the Nepal Police Force is planning to use the instruments to address the cyber crimes (Int\Reg\Nat). With the collaboration of UN, ITU, Council of Europe, Regional Responses and Nepal Government; they are planning to stop these crimes he said.

Efforts of Nepal police to combat cybercrime are also discussed by him. He said that they have their Cid departments to minimize these crimes, Deployment of Cyber crops, the establishment of C4 at police HQ-CID and the installation of dedicated cyber crime cells. Furthermore, he has also discussed about the I-24/7 which is a secure communication network and exchange information between their member countries. He also added about IGCI (Interpol Global complex for innovation).

It supports operational, cybersecurity strategy development and the advocacy on internet governance. He, not only concern about these, but he has also mentioned his presentation on challenges and what are the steps to be taken to stop these crimes in the future. He has shared the concept of APT (advanced persistent threat), Zero-day attack, Man-in-the-middle attack and many more. These are the things he has mentioned as the representative of the Nepal Police Force for the cybercrime.
