Chiranjibi Adhikari, the General Secretary of the CAN Federation, has been appointed to the ICT Subcommittee of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).

Cybersecurity Expert Adhikari Joins NAST

His appointment was announced following NAST’s 307th management council meeting, during which several subcommittees were restructured to align with key sectoral objectives. Prof. Dr. Sunbarna Shakya will lead the ICT Subcommittee as Coordinator, accompanied by distinguished members such as Prof. Dr. Manish Pokharel, Dr. Baburam Dawadi, Dr. Bhojraj Ghimire, and Er. Gunakeshari Pradhan, with Pradeep Dhodari serving as Member Secretary.

The ICT subcommittee is instrumental in driving technological reforms and shaping impactful policies within Nepal’s digital landscape. With his extensive experience in cybersecurity, Adhikari is expected to bring valuable insight and guidance to the subcommittee’s initiatives.

A Veteran in Cybersecurity

Adhikari, a prominent figure in the cybersecurity domain, is the Founder and President of the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Innovation (CSRI Nepal) and currently chairs the Information Security Response Team Nepal (npCert).

With over 20 years of experience in the field, he has also been educating the next generation of cybersecurity experts through his teaching roles at Softwarica College and Texas College. Adhikari is the CEO of Dedicated Cybersecurity Company One Cover Private Limited.

His expertise is bolstered by multiple global certifications in IT governance, cybersecurity, AI-driven security solutions, and information security management systems. This background uniquely positions him to contribute to Nepal’s growing need for robust cybersecurity frameworks and technology governance.

Commitment to Innovation and Youth Engagement

Throughout his career, Adhikari has actively championed youth empowerment and startup growth within the ICT sector, advocating for policies that support innovation. His recent appointment to NAST’s ICT Subcommittee offers a platform to further his work in policy development and to shape an inclusive, forward-thinking technological environment in Nepal.
