Dayaram Sharma, Executive Director of the Banking Department, Nepal Rastra Bank, has been appointed as the Chairman of Nepal Clearing House Ltd. through its 203rd board meeting, corresponding to which oath from the Deputy Governor Dr. Neelam Dhungana Timsina of Nepal Rastra Bank has been taken on 6th February 2023.
The representation of NRB at the board of NCHL was recently changed after the transfer of Mr. Ram Bahadur Manandhar, Executive Director at NRB.
NCHL board includes representation from NRB, commercial banks, development banks, and finance companies.
NCHL is a public limited company promoted by Nepal Rastra Bank and the majority of the banks & financial institutions for establishing multiple national payment systems in Nepal.
It has been operating NCHL-ECC, NCHL-IPS, connect-IPS, CORPORATEPAY, connectRTGS, National Payments Interface (NPI), and with the recent implementation of Retail Payment Switch (RPS) as part of National Payment Switch new instruments like NEPALPAY QR and NEPALPAY TAP have also been implemented.
