Digital Gandaki Samvad 2026: Driving Nepal’s National IT Agenda Through Sovereign AI, Budget 2083/84, and PPP
6th June 2026, Kathmandu
With an aim to drive technological discourse and robust policy advocacy across the nation, the highly anticipated ‘Digital Gandaki Samvad’ (Digital Gandaki Dialogue) is scheduled to take place in the scenic city of Pokhara, Kaski.
Digital Gandaki Samvad 2026
Jointly organized by the Computer Association of Nepal Federation (CAN Federation), Gandaki Province, and CAN Federation Kaski District, this high-level conclave will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 (Jestha 23, 2083 BS).
The event is set to bring together top-tier tech experts, visionary policymakers, government representatives, and industry stakeholders to deliberate on contemporary ICT issues and forge an actionable blueprint for the province’s tech ecosystem.
A Visionary Framework for Nepal’s National IT Agenda
The conceptual framework behind this transformative movement was developed under the strategic stewardship of IT industry leader and CAN Federation President (A), Chiranjibi Adhikari. Under his nationwide leadership, the Nepalese IT sector is flourishing, elevating digital transformation from regional conversations into a pivotal national agenda.
Industry leaders assert that establishing localized digital structural benchmarks is essential to sustaining economic growth in the federal structure.
Aligning with this national momentum, CAN Federation Gandaki Province President, Gunanidhi Pandey, highlighted that the ‘Digital Gandaki’ framework serves as a critical pillar for the region.
According to Pandey, integrating provincial socioeconomic milestones with modern technological frameworks will establish Gandaki Province as a premier digital hub within Nepal.
Three Core Pillars of Digital Gandaki Samvad
This iteration of the dialogue will primarily focus on three strategic, forward-looking agendas designed to redefine the Nepalese tech landscape:
Nepal Budget 2083/84 and IT Roadmap: The dialogue will feature a meticulous analysis of the upcoming fiscal year’s budget allocations, assessing their alignment with national digital transformation goals. Stakeholders will dissect policy priorities, fiscal incentives for IT startups, and the strategic roadmaps required to transition traditional public services into smooth, citizen-centric digital applications.
Sovereign AI (Artificial Intelligence) for Nepal: As data security and AI governance become vital global issues, the event will explore the deployment of Sovereign AI frameworks in Nepal.
Discussions will focus on protecting national data sovereignty, building localized large language models (LLMs) trained on native Nepalese languages, and ensuring digital self-reliance to mitigate reliance on external tech infrastructure.
Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in ICT: Scaling a digital ecosystem requires deep collaboration. The forum will evaluate robust Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models tailored for the IT sector.
This includes exploring joint frameworks between municipal authorities, provincial governments, and private IT companies to rapidly scale high-speed IT infrastructure, data centers, and digital literacy campaigns across Gandaki.
“Strategic frameworks give us direction, but localized IT implementation and precise execution are the true keys to success. We must ensure that these digital policies translate into practical, accessible tools for the businesses, students, and local authorities right here in Kaski.”
Purushottam Kunwar, President of CAN Federation Kaski
The organizers confidently anticipate that the insights, whitepapers, and resolutions gathered from the Digital Gandaki Samvad will play a foundational role in shaping the official digital transformation blueprint for Gandaki Province, cultivating a highly collaborative, secure, and thriving tech environment for all Nepalese citizens.
