Software meetup organized for the first time in Nepal; Information Technology industry discusses various dimensions for development.
To promote the Nepalese Software Industry in Nepal, the meetup was organized. For the first time, such an event has been held in Nepal to discuss and inform about the new information and development in the field of information technology taking place daily in Nepal. Intending to address various problems, challenges and opportunities seen in the information technology and software industry of Nepal, ICT Frame Magazines and DIT Solution jointly organized the software meetup.
The software meetup was set up at Softwarica College on 26th April 2019 and brought together people related to the organization and individuals working in the information technology sector in Nepal. This nuclear programs discussion was about the different dimensions of Nepal’s software industry.
Speaking at the program, Surendra Neupane said that there is still a challenge in software development in Nepal and local software is still facing a market problem.
“In Nepal, foreign and especially Indian software have remained at the top, and local software isn’t used by the users even though they provide high-level services,” he said. Neupane said that most of the foreign companies in the country were promoting the use of different software, and developing the social software this different software must be discouraged.
In the same way, another speaker of the program, Shrisa Maharjan, informed that to take Nepali poems to international media information technology is the best-suited method. She told that she’s been trying to introduce and spread Nepali poems and poets to the world market directly through the online platform.
Another Young entrepreneur Sudip Ghimire shared his experience of difficulties and obstacles to operating Information Technology industries outside Kathmandu valley properly. He said that he faced the lack of necessary human resources in the information technology sector while trying to start a similar enterprise outside the valley and the experts of this area did not want to go outside Kathmandu.
Bidhan Online Sales Platform head, Sharita Shrestha provided information about the startup company that provides medicines through online platform. She also talked about the company’s possibility of expanding online service. She mentioned that the company offers dose at the home of the users as per their demands via Bidhan Online app.
Software meetup, which was completed successfully with the title sponsorship of Prabhu Pay digital wallet, has tried to bring the Nepali software companies and industries in one place and hope to help the information technology policymakers to make policy on the development and expansion in the field on IT in Nepal.
