Construction of flyovers and underpasses is being started to streamline traffic management in the valley to resolve the issue of traffic congestion. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management Basanta Nemwang informed about this.

Speaking as the chief guest at the 44th Annual General Meeting of the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal, Minister Nemwang said the government was serious about building infrastructure.

“The government is very sensitive to the growth and expansion of the transport sector. “Because the construction of flyovers and underpasses is essential to the traffic management of the valley. We will begin work by laying the foundation stone in a few days,” said Minister Nemwang.

He didn’t say where the flyovers would be constructed. But the government had been studying to construct flyovers in Chabahil and Thapathali for years.

NADA Chairman Krishna Prasad Dulal said that the government should change its view on the overall automobile sector adding. “Vehicles will be accessible to more people only if the provision of not allowing more than 50 percent loan to those who want to buy vehicles is removed.”

The special guest of the program, Shekhar Golchha, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), said that economic activities would not increase until mobility increased.
