Ujwal Thapa, who was undergoing treatment at Medicity Hospital in Kathmandu, passed away at 4.30 pm today.

The Former president of Bibeksheel Sajha Party and co-founder of WordPress Nepal has passed away today.

Despite the tireless efforts, support, and prayers of all of us (June 18, 2078, 4:25 pm), he did not stay with us.

He was diagnosed with corona and pneumonia. Thapa had earlier been treated at Grandi and Hams Hospitals. He was tested negative for PCR on Monday.

Who is Ujjwal Thapa?

Born and raised in Kathmandu and educated at Budhanilkantha School, Ujwal went to the United States for higher education.

But, he returned home with the feeling that he should do something in his own country. He has written in a blog about why he did not stay in the United States and returned to Nepal.

After returning home, Thapa started a Vibekshil Nepali group and started an alternative political culture in Nepal.

Under his leadership, the Discretionary Group had adopted alternative measures to oppose activities, including strikes and killings, and violence.

After forming Bibeksheel Sajha Party, Ujwal Thapa became popular among the youth. He came into the limelight when he said that the country’s politics should be radically changed.

But, he is an IT entrepreneur too. Thapa started his career as a Technology Entrepreneur. He started Digital Max Solutions in 2002 to develop a website and run a social media branding company.

He later became an active participant in the establishment of Word Press Nepal.  Who created a Facebook group to help and inspire young people in the field: Entrepreneur for Nepal.

He went to the United States on a scholarship to study astronomy and astrophysics.

But he left his studies and returned to Nepal as a web designer.

The group has more than 119,400 members.

The lives he influenced and their successes; His interventions to improve Nepal’s political system will always remain fresh. We feel that his motivation and support to bring the youth into the mainstream of politics will be remembered for a long time.

And for sure, he will be positively appreciated by history! Ujwal Thapa is not only a person but also a philosopher and an idea, and it is our feeling that he will live on in that. We are all determined to fulfill his dream and bring happiness to every Nepali.

Popular leader

Thapa, who has never reached a profit position, has risen to prominence as a popular leader due to the respect and goodwill shown by Nepalis even after his illness.

According to many, Thapa’s popularity is due to his different politics and the ‘power-centric politics of Nepal’s traditional parties and leaders.

From the dream of becoming an astronomer and physicist to an entrepreneur. He took the step of becoming an entrepreneur by opening an information technology company and also invested in coffee farming.

Campaign for political change

Even long after the formation of the Constituent Assembly, the constitution could not be drafted.

From social media to the streets, they chanted slogans like ‘Pay full wages, now give constitution.’

But since such campaigns alone do not make it possible to change society, Thapa decided to enter politics.

He formed a group called Vibekshil Nepali in 2069 BS.

Waves in politics

His activities showed that the country cannot develop without entrepreneurship and that only educated youth can change the country.

In the eyes of critics, Ujjwal may or may not be theoretically clear, but he attacked the anomalies that have been lingering in Nepal’s politics for years, albeit in a small way.

And it has definitely brought a wave in Nepali politics like a small ballast thrown in a frozen pond.

But before that wave could spread, Thapa passed away at the young age of 44.

Sympathy

We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of Ujjwal Thapa. May his departed soul rest in peace in heaven. We pray for peace and comfort for your loved ones at this difficult time and offer our condolences to all. His gentle soul will always be in our hearts.

You are gone from our sight but never from our hearts. You were and will forever remain a gem of this country.
