The Nepali business community and tourism industry have been left in shock following the passing of Basanta Raj Mishra, the former Vice President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). Mishra, aged 70, passed away this morning, as confirmed by his family.
His demise marks the loss of a dedicated, visionary leader and a significant figure in Nepal’s tourism sector.
With over four decades of active involvement in promoting Nepal’s tourism, Mishra was instrumental in bringing international tourists to the country.
As the founder of Temple Tiger Group & Company, his contributions to developing Nepal as a prominent tourism destination were remarkable. His efforts to boost Nepal’s tourism industry, which included consistent advocacy for the sector, have left an enduring legacy.
Mishra served as the Vice President of CNI from 2013 to 2016. He was known for his deep concern and dedication to the growth of the tourism sector, making him a revered figure in the industry.
His passing is being widely mourned by industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and the entire Nepali business community.
