Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi Flood: Forward Microfinance Donates NPR 30 Lakhs to PM Relief Fund

In response to the Rasuwa-Bhotekoshi flood disaster, Forward Microfinance contributes NPR 30,00,665 to aid rescue, rehabilitation, and essential supplies distribution.
Forward Microfinance Donates NPR 30 Lakhs
Forward Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has contributed NPR 30,00,665 to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund to support search, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating flash flood on Bhadra 10.
The flood in the Bhotekoshi River caused extensive loss of life and property across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts, while also affecting surrounding areas.
Forward Microfinance Company Secretary Binod Kumar Choudhary confirmed that the financial support was deposited into the government fund to aid affected citizens during this critical period.
Breakdown of the Financial Contribution
The financial institution mobilized resources through a combination of institutional funds and voluntary staff contributions:
CSR Fund Allocation: NPR 16,00,000 from the Corporate Social Responsibility budget.

Employee Contributions: NPR 14,00,665 collected voluntarily by staff members.
Total Support Fund: NPR 30,00,665 deposited into the relief fund.
In addition to the monetary contribution to the Prime Minister’s fund, Forward Microfinance announced that it will directly distribute essential daily utility supplies to displaced and affected families in the flood-hit region.
Speaking on the initiative, Chairperson Bhagawati Choudhary stated that the contribution reflects the institution’s core duty toward nation-building and humanitarian service during times of national crisis.
Forward Microfinance expressed its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy, wished a speedy recovery to the injured, and called for coordinated relief operations.
As a national-level ‘D’ class financial institution licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank, Forward Microfinance operates 159 branches across 40 districts, delivering micro-financial services to over 284,000 members, primarily women from underprivileged communities.
