We are not behind in the IT field, as mobile penetration is more than 100%, whereas smartphone penetration could be more than 70%, but we are not making the right use of it.
We are only using it to chat or send messages, but if we look, America is making use of the smartphone by sending it into space, which is 1000 times more powerful than a machine or any computer.

So, we are not behind in technology but lagging behind in making the right use of its potential.

In 2000, we planned for e-governance, and with the help of the Korean government, We implemented it in 2006. But if we want to get a copy of our citizenship, passport, license, etc., it takes several days.

In 1994, Kathmandu University recognized the need for computer science, and after some time it was included in the curriculum.

We are not behind in launching new technology in Nepal. As you see, we launched IBM 1 earlier than in India.

We need to know and accept that if we are not empowering IT in the right way, we are going to fall further behind.

According to Industrial Revolution 4.0, if we want to develop our country, we don’t need big infrastructure, but if we are making the right use of IT, then we can achieve a lot.

We can say that this is an era of artificial intelligence (AI), whether you like it or not. Kathmandu University is the fourth university in the world to have included it in its curriculum before other universities.

They recognized that this field was going to rule the world and included it. In 50–60 years, the world will be full of AI.
