Generative AI Seminar Nepal: AWS & Genese Solution on Data & AI

Genese Solution, a leading IT consulting and cybersecurity company, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) organised a joint event recently on the theme of Mastering Data and Generative AI.

Addressing the seminar, Bhaubai Bal, Solutions Architect at AWS, said that clean data, strong analytics, and proper integration are the foundation for building impactful generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) solutions.
He emphasized the importance of responsible AI practices and security, noting that “guardrails are essential to ensure safe and ethical use of generative AI.” Bubai also introduced AWS’ generative AI toolsets like Amazon Bedrock, which provides access to leading foundation models for training, fine-tuning, and building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions.
He concluded by highlighting how generative AI can seamlessly integrate with services like Amazon QuickSight and Amazon Connect to unlock even more value.
Participants were guided through setting up access to Amazon Bedrock and configuring Jupyter Notebooks in Amazon SageMaker Studio. The session enabled real-time exploration of AI models and practical configuration steps. Labs focused on text generation and image labs, with pre-configured materials that were made available for continued self-paced learning.
A hands-on lab covered prompt engineering using the Amazon Bedrock Playground. Key concepts like chain-of-thought prompting, temperature tuning, and parameter control were explored. Use cases included text summarization, code generation, and entity extraction using Jupyter notebooks. Participants were encouraged to experiment with prompt techniques beyond the session.
Anjani Phuyal, CEO of Genese Solution and Global Ambassador for Amazon, shared his journey from rural Nepal to global tech leadership. He emphasized technology as a great equalizer, empowering Nepali talent to make a global impact. Mr Phuyal also highlighted Nepal’s potential as an emerging tech hub. Sharing his deeply personal story, underscoring the role of education and tech in transforming lives, he called on young professionals to embrace emerging technologies like Generative AI, cloud, and quantum computing.
Akash Ninave, Solutions Architect at AWS, made presentations on Prompt Engineering, Text Generation, Model Customization, Multimodal Image Generation, among others.
Over 130 tech enthusiasts from the industry and academia took part in the seminar.
