Global IME Bank Limited has launched an innovative digital service enabling Nepali citizens to open a personal savings account online using their National Identity Card through the Nagarik App.

The service allows users registered on the Nagarik App to scan the designated QR code available on the official website or access the portal to initiate account setup.
This integration represents the first time in Nepal that bank account registration is linked directly with the government digital app, rendering the onboarding process faster, fully paperless, and user-friendly.
Eligibility Criteria And Account Activation Process
The digital account opening feature is open to all eligible Nepali citizens meeting specific requirements:
- Applicants must be Nepalese citizens aged 18 years or older.
- Candidates must hold a valid National Identity Card.
- Users must be registered members on the Nagarik App platform.
With the explicit consent of the user, Global IME Bank retrieves personal verification details directly from the Nagarik App. This mechanism removes the requirement for manual form entry while protecting customer data privacy.
To fully activate the new account for regular operations, customers can complete mandatory identity verification by visiting any local Global IME Bank branch or through the remote Video KYC service.
