On World Standards Day, Seizo Onoe, Director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), emphasized the need for responsible governance of artificial intelligence (AI).
“AI must be governed in the best interests of everyone, everywhere,” Onoe stated, highlighting the role of standards and capacity building in achieving this goal.
The first International AI Standards Summit brought together leading standardization bodies and global digital leaders to discuss and shape responsible, safe, and inclusive AI standards.
