Global IME Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Innsbruck, Austria, under the SWITCH Asia Grant Program, supported by the European Union.

The MoU focuses on promoting energy-efficient technologies and practices in sustainable housing construction through the Building Energy Efficiency in Nepal (BEEN) project.

The agreement was signed by Asim Karmacharya, Head of Green and Sustainable Banking at Global IME Bank, and Dr. Daniel Neier, Project Lead of the BEEN initiative and representative from the University of Innsbruck, Austria.

Global IME Bank has been proactive in promoting sustainable housing through its specialized “Green Home Loan” scheme, which is designed to encourage energy-efficient building practices. According to the bank, this partnership will enhance technical capacity and support the promotion of sustainable and energy-efficient building solutions in Nepal.
