Global IME Plants 18K Trees in Nepal: World Environment Day Initiative

Global IME Bank Limited conducted a large-scale tree plantation program across various locations in Nepal to mark World Environment Day.

As part of its 18th anniversary celebration, the bank aimed to plant 18,000 trees across the country. On Thursday, to honor World Environment Day, tree plantation programs were organized in several regions.
In a major event, the bank planted 1,000 lemon saplings in Balchaur, Lamkichuha Municipality, Kailali District of Sudurpashchim Province, in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah and Global IME Bank CEO Surendra Raj Regmi.
The event saw significant participation from local representatives, community members, and bank employees.
Similarly, in Kathmandu, 300 saplings were planted in the Narayanhiti Army Barracks area in the presence of Deputy CEO Suman Pokharel.
The plantation campaign extended to:
Koshi Province: 3,700 saplings in Diktel, Pragati Community Forest, Mechinagar (Jhapa), and other areas
Madhesh Province: 5,050 saplings in Rajbiraj, Jitpur, Lahan, Gaur, Mithila Municipality (Bhatighari Community Forest), etc.
Bagmati Province: 2,300 saplings in Narayanhiti Barracks, Tokha, Rasuwa, and more
Gandaki Province: 2,100 saplings in Baglung, Kaski, and surrounding regions
Lumbini Province: 1,500 saplings in Bijuwar, Ghorahi, Gulariya, Liwang, etc.
Karnali Province: 700 saplings in Birendranagar, Raskot, and others
Sudurpashchim Province: 2,086 saplings in Baliya, Gokuleshwor, Baitadi, Attariya, Dhangadhi, Tikapur, Mahendranagar, and more
The programs were conducted with enthusiastic involvement from the local community.
The bank collaborated with various organizations for the plantation drive, selecting locations such as urban beautification sites, community forests, school and hospital premises, and public spaces.
The initiative aims to contribute to environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, and supporting local livelihoods.
