The problems of fake news on the Internet are growing very rapidly day by day. Fake news is becoming an epidemic these days. It is false or misleading information presented as news to damage the reputation of a person or entity.
The main aim of spreading fake news is to make money through advertising the revenue. Mostly, it’s very easy to fall into the trap of fake news because it is often very well executed to deceive us. For example, we trust our family, friends, partners, stars, etc., too easily, and if these people share something on social media, we will believe them very easily.
Many problems are created by fake news, like confusion and misunderstandings on several significant issues. There are many fake and misleading news stories related to medical treatments and several other diseases which could lead us to live harmful health. It has become a crucial problem to use the Internet because social media are the very first medium for predation of fake news.
Google IO virtual event
Google’s annual developer conference was held on Tuesday. It was canceled last year due to the pandemic. Google IO returned as a virtual event. The conference was held for three days. Google executives and project managers showed off the new software features, new AI-powered tools, and many more. Google also spoke about the feature that tells the users about fake news.
The feature was introduced in the US last year in February. Now it is expected to roll out the feature to all users later this month.

Google talked about a feature called “About this Result” in Search in the I/O event. Google is working with Wikipedia on this. The Google users will see the particular description of the site, and the link to its Wikipedia page will be included there. It will provide the most up-to-date, verified, and realistic information source available on Wikipedia about the site.
Google users will be able to see the privacy before the connection to the site. Also, they will be able to see whether it uses the HTTPS protocol, which encrypts all data between the website and the browser. If the site is one you haven’t heard of before, that information will give you the context or peace of mind.
Also, it will become more productive if you are looking for something important, like health or financial information. If the site doesn’t have a Wikipedia description, then Google will show users additional context available, such as when Google first indexed the site.
The function will really be helpful for the customers as it informs the extra concerning the sources. The feature will help to minimize the rumors and fake news and make people will know only the realistic news. The feature of Google will help to minimize the fear, financial hacks, health issues. This will also help to reduce racist ideas, bullying, and violence against innocent people. With the help of this feature, people will be able to escape from the rumors and fake news, whatever the news is and however the trick is.

All the users and people are requested not to believe all the news published on several sites and various media. People who produce fake news use a foolproof trick to trap us, but we must be aware of the trap.
