Hackers circulate ‘Phishing links’ in the name of Rastriya Banijya Bank on Facebook
In the name of the Rastriya Banijya Bank, now a ‘Phishing link’ is spreading on Facebook. Anyone can be fooled by the fact that the site with the ‘phishing link’ looks real like that of the Rastriya Banijya Bank.
Phishing is a type of social engineering where an attacker sends a fraudulent message designed to trick a person into revealing sensitive information to the attacker. The use of such links is to steal the information of the user.
Rastriya Banijya Bank’s Phishing link is also designed for the same purpose.
There is no winner or lucky draw written on the site. So it is for some information. After clicking on the link, all the data goes to ‘phishing’ i.e in the hands of the hacker.
At the same time, the link is automatically forwarded to different people from the messenger of the person who opened the link. The head of information and communication of Rashtriya Banijya Bank, Rico Sthapit, said, “Phishing links are being spread in the name of Rashtriya Commercial Bank. To avoid this, I request you not to open such links.”
He has requested not to trust the links on other sites other than the bank’s official social media page or website. He said that the Bank will also publish a notice to be more alert about this.
It seems that if this link is spread on the social network Facebook, and Messenger and is opened in a new window, one can apply for the 5,000 prizes.
Similarly, if you look at the comments on the site, it looks like it is official. While answering the various questions there, Facebook asks for the permission of Messenger and WhatsApp.
If such permission is given, your WhatsApp or Facebook itself gets hacked and they can trap more people by sending such a ‘phishing link’ from your account. Hence, the best way to be safe from phishing is to not open such links and simply avoid it.
