Himalayan Laghubitta Reports 49.07% Increase In Net Profit For FY 2082/83

Himalayan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has published its unaudited fourth-quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2082/83, reporting a 49.07% year-on-year increase in net profit.

According to the official financial statement of the company, net profit increased to NPR 106.61 million, up from NPR 71.46 million recorded in the previous fiscal year.
This growth was supported by higher interest income, expanded lending activities, and improved operational performance throughout the review period.
Interest Income And Net Interest Income Expand
The microfinance institution generated total interest income of NPR 711.42 million during the fiscal year, compared to NPR 673.38 million reported in the previous year.
Despite rising interest expenses, net interest income grew to NPR 442.19 million, up from NPR 370.89 million in the corresponding period of the prior fiscal year.
The company earned NPR 47.86 million in net fee and commission income, driving total operating income to NPR 495.41 million from NPR 423.91 million.
Operating Profit Strengthens Significantly
Himalayan Laghubitta posted a net operating income of NPR 434.27 million, marking an increase from NPR 385.68 million in the previous fiscal year.
Operating profit improved significantly during the period, rising to NPR 152.20 million compared to NPR 105.41 million a year earlier.
After accounting for tax liabilities, the institution finalized its net profit at NPR 106.61 million, achieving a 49.07% annual growth rate.
Earnings Per Share Climbs Above NPR 31
The Earnings Per Share (EPS) of the institution increased from NPR 22.34 to NPR 31.26, reflecting the strong improvement in overall profitability.
The company reported an annualized distributable profit per share of NPR 27.13.
Total distributable profit reached approximately NPR 92.52 million by the close of the fourth quarter.
