Considering the rapidly evolving telecommunication landscape, Nepal Telecom brought the 4G service to Nepal on 01 January 2017. It is the first provider of the service in Nepal. So, let’s reap the benefit! Let’s learn how to activate NTC 4G service!

What is 4G service?

4G or LTE(Long Term Evolution) is the fourth generation of broadband cellular network technology. It is the successor of the 3G and 2G networks. It has a vast number of improvements over the previous 3G and 2G technologies. Hence, it has been gaining popularity all over the world.

Prerequisites before activating 4G:

  1. Your mobile/cellular phone must support the 4G service
  2. Your SIM card should be replaced with Universal Sim (U-SIM) if you have the older 3G,2G SIM cards
  3. You should be in a 4G/LTE coverage area for accessing the service

Finally, For Activating 4G/LTE Service: Dial *444#

Great news! There is no service activation fee. It’s free of cost. In addition to that, the data tariff for 4G service is the same as that of 3G SIM. The telecom also comes up with the valuable data packages time and again. You can always take anyone as per your need.

Advantages of 4G service:

  • Excellent internet surfing experience
  • Buffer-free streaming and extremely clear videos
  • A better experience with bandwidth-intensive surfing

You can always visit any of Nepal Telecom branches to get the 4G/LTE SIM card. If you are currently using a 3G, 2G SIM, you can replace that with a 4G SIM. No fee will be incurred in this process.

Currently, the 4G network coverage has reached all the 77 districts of Nepal as per the Telecom. Of course, there are instances when the 4G network complaints have been heard. But, all in all, it’s been a successful launch.

Dial 1498 or visit your nearest telecom office in case of any inconvenience. You can always click here for further information on the 4G/LTE service of Nepal Telecom.
