Hult Prize at NCC: On-Campus Event, Team BAAKI Winner

On November 28, 2020, Nepal Commerce Campus successfully organized its first On-Campus event of Hult Prize. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the event was conducted virtually. A total of 10 teams from different programs of Nepal Commerce Campus participated in the final contest.

 Judges for this competition were Ms. Hima Bista (Executive Director, Women LEAD Nepal), Mr. Prashanta Khanal (Food writer/Entrepreneur), Mr. Pavitra Gautam (CEO, Karkhana), Mr. Kiran Timsina (Urban Girl Nepal), Mr. Subrath Poudel (Gurans Traders) and Ms. Sajal Pradhan (Best Paani).

The event started with keynote speeches by Dinesh Mani Ghimire, Assistant Dean of Faculty of Management, Dr. Gopal Thapa, Director of BBA Program, Nepal Commerce Campus, and Dr. Raj Kumar Bhattarai, Associate Professor at Tribhuwan University as well as an Advisor of Hult Prize at NCC 2020/2021. During the event, all the participating teams pitched their innovative ideas within six minutes in front of a panel of judges followed by a 4 mins long question-answer round. Judges took their time for Q&A and shared their opinions about each team.

After all, had been done, 3 teams out of 10 participated teams were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. ‘Team BAAKI’ the winner of the On-Campus program of Hult Prize at NCC had the most viable idea with respect to the challenge of this year i.e. Food for Good, to develop a Unique Online Food Delivery business that would bring changes through food. Similarly, ‘Team Innovators’ and ‘Team Fraulein’ secured the positions of 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively with their ideas of bringing changes in the agricultural sector and establishing Online Food Delivery Service for corporate staff.

At last, the closing remarks for the event were made by the Campus Director of Hult Prize at NCC Ms. Prakriti Pokharel.

Hult Prize at NCC turned out to be one of the most successful events of Nepal Commerce Campus.
