iPhone Features

29th October 2022, Kathmandu

Apple is going to provide a USB Type-C charging port in its new version of the iPhone 15.  Apple executive Greg Joswiak announced to comply with new EU laws and that iphone will feature a USB-C port.

Recently, the European Union passed a law requiring all smartphone manufacturers to have a USB C port on their devices by 2024.

According to the same law, Apple has announced that the new version of the iPhone will have a Type C charging port.

Apple’s smartphones have had Lightning ports before. With the Type C charging port, the iPhone can also be charged with the charger of other Android phones.

The European Union aims to reduce e-waste through standardization and also to make it easier for consumers. But Apple is not satisfied with the decision and logic.

According to Apple, adding a USB Type-C port to the new iPhone will increase electrical waste. Because iPhone users who currently use a Lightning cable cannot purchase a new charger. And, if the charging port is broken or the charger is broken, there is no option but to buy a new phone.

The iPhone is currently the only major smartphone to not already use USB-C while many of the other apple devices already support the connector.
