Targeting Remote Areas for Maternity Care
The bank has installed baby warmers in four remote locations in the mountainous regions of Far Western Province. These areas often face challenges in accessing healthcare, especially during childbirth. By providing baby warmers, the bank is ensuring newborns receive better care, even in areas where it is difficult to deliver services. The donation targets places where the bank does not have branches, focusing on the regions most in need.
Locations of Baby Warmer Installations
The bank has installed these life-saving machines in the following health posts:
Shreekot Health Post, located in Dogadakedar Municipality, Baitadi District
Sarmoli Health Post, situated in Lekam Municipality-2, and Sauganna Basic Health Center, in Api Himal Municipality-5, Darchula District
Brahmtol Health Post, found in Budiganga Municipality-2, Bajura District
These areas will now benefit from improved maternal and newborn healthcare services. The addition of the first-ever baby warmer in Budiganga Municipality is particularly significant. Local authorities are optimistic about the positive impact this will have on the region’s maternity services.
Training for Health Staff
Along with donating the equipment, Jyoti Bikas Bank also organized special training for local medical staff. Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers received training on the proper usage of the baby warmers. The training was conducted by experts to ensure the optimal use of the equipment for newborn care. This will guarantee that the baby warmers are effectively utilized, ensuring the health and safety of newborns in the area.
Enhancing Health Services in Rural Nepal
This initiative highlights the importance of providing life-saving medical equipment to rural and remote regions. In mountainous areas like those in Far Western Nepal, conditions can be harsh, and healthcare resources are limited. The baby warmer, also known as a “warm baby” machine, is essential for keeping newborns at the right temperature. It is a crucial tool in preventing the dangers of hypothermia, especially in remote areas with challenging climates.
A Continued Commitment to Rural Healthcare
Jyoti Bikas Bank remains committed to supporting rural communities through social and healthcare initiatives. By providing essential medical equipment, the bank seeks to improve the healthcare standards in rural Nepal. The donation of baby warmers is just one example of the bank’s efforts to ensure that vital healthcare services are accessible in remote areas.
This initiative reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to improving healthcare access for all Nepali citizens, regardless of their location. Jyoti Bikas Bank continues to collaborate with local health authorities to ensure that vital services reach the people who need them the most.
