Kamana Sewa Bank Conclave: Bridging Banks & Businesses in Dhangadhi

Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank successfully organized a Banking and Business Conclave in Dhangadhi on Friday. The event aimed to bridge the gap between local banks and entrepreneurs. It was held in collaboration with the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Over 120 business owners from the region attended.

The conclave focused on strengthening relations between businesses and financial institutions. It provided a platform for direct discussions on business challenges. Shivraj Bhatt, General Secretary of the Press Federation of Far-West, moderated the event.
Key Speakers and Insights
Harishchandra Dhakal, Deputy Director of Nepal Rastra Bank in Dhangadhi, was one of the key speakers. He shared that the central bank’s policies aim for long-term economic stability and growth. Dhakal reassured entrepreneurs that they could approach Nepal Rastra Bank with concerns regarding banks and financial institutions.
Umesh Raj Pandey from FCI also spoke about the complementary roles of banks and businesses. He acknowledged that differences may arise, but maintaining economic discipline can strengthen cooperation. He stressed the importance of mutual growth for both sectors.
Support for SMEs and Business Relief
Pushkar Raj Ojha, Senior Vice President of the Kailali Chamber of Commerce, thanked Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank for organizing the event. He pointed out that banks often hesitate to engage with businesses in meaningful discussions. Ojha urged Nepal Rastra Bank and other financial institutions to develop relief programs for businesses still recovering from the pandemic’s effects.
Ojha also emphasized that current regulations are putting pressure on entrepreneurs. He warned that some businesses may shut down if these challenges are not addressed. He called on banks to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as they play a vital role in Nepal’s economy.
Commitment to Long-Term Growth
Binay Dahal, Deputy CEO of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, acknowledged the discomfort caused by recent financial regulations. Despite this, Dahal assured that these measures would have a positive long-term impact. He reiterated the bank’s commitment to supporting local businesses and encouraging growth.
The conclave in Dhangadhi follows a similar event held in Chitwan. Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank remains dedicated to strengthening its ties with the business community and promoting sustainable economic development across Nepal.
